DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION, ACTIVITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

It is a public organism, to the service of the industry of the wood of Galicia, which across its activities it tries to help to improve the competitive position of the companies, propitiating an ideal utilization of the forest resource, and a major application and quality of its derivative products.
The Center is created in the year 1996 as a unit dependent on the Institute Galego of Economic Promotion (IGAPE). In 1998 it is transferred to the Consellería of Innovation, Industry and Trade of the Autonomous government of Galicia, placing inside the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Quality and Technological developtment of Galicia. "

Its aims are the following :

• Elaboration and project execution of basic and applied investigation.
• Transfer of technology.
• Promotion and diffusion of the knowledge on the utilization of the wood in its diverse applications, specially in the area of the construction.
• To give training in areas related to the technology of the wood.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE OF THE ORGANIZATION IN THE PROJECT:

It will do the following tasks:

1. Elaboration of a directory of companies.
2. Elaboration of a part of the photographic material.
3. Translation of the publication to the Galician language.
4. Printing and design of the publication in Galician language.
5. Organization of a divulgative seminar.
